In her decade-long career with the written word, Meister has contributed written and/or editorial work to The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, Time Out NY, BUST, Slashfood.com, Sprudge.com, and Amplifier Magazine, among others. She is currently a coffee columnist with the food website Serious Eats, and copyedits Barista Magazine.

As a coffee professional, she enjoyed a lengthy tenure at Joe before joining the customer support team at Counter Culture Coffee, for whom she both executes and helps develop coffee-related curriculum for both professionals and consumers. She has also participated with CoffeeCommon at the TED Conference, has been commissioned by the Specialty Coffee Association of America to cover its annual Symposium and Event, and has contributed work to the SCAA’s Chronicle publication as well. She has participated in skill-building events organized by the Barista Guild of America, and has also done in-kitchen instruction for home-espresso-machine users.
